How To Convert GPA to 5.0 scale

While many colleges and universities use a 4.0 GPA scale, not all schools do. Our free GPA converter converts your GPA to a 5.0 scale or 4.0 to 5.0 scale.

It also converts any school or college GPA (US, UK, NG, etc.) starting from a 3.0 scale to a 10.0 scale. Follow the steps below:

Step 1: Find the Current GPA

Current GPA

To use the GPA conversion tool, first of all, find your current GPA; it should be found on your latest report card or transcript given to you by the school.

Check out the 5.0 weighted GPA Calculator or the Nigeria 5.0 GPA Calculator. This would be the GPA scale you would be converting to. It may be 2.3, 3.5, 4.0, or anything, depending on your grade.

Then input it into the field, making sure you are adding it with a dot, i.e., 2.3.

Step 2: Select your school’s GPA scale

Desired GPA

Then choose the GPA scale or grade used by your formal school or college; if you don’t know, you may have to find out your school’s grading system.

It can be 4.0 or 5.0; some may even use 6.0 or 10.0. See the example below:

Step 3: Select your desired GPA scale

After that, you must input your earned GPA and select your formal school GPA. Now it’s time to select the GPA of the school you are moving to or transferring to.

This would help you get an accurate GPA. Either the schools use a 5.0 GPA and you want to convert to a 4.0 scale since your new college uses a 4.0 GPA. This could still be any GPA your new college is using.

Step 4: Converted Result

After inputting and selecting the required information about the GPA you are about to convert, the final result will be the converted GPA scale.

Why The GPA Conversion Tool

Many students wish to convert their GPA from a 5.0 to a 4.0 scale or a 5.0 to a 4.0 scale but find it challenging to do, as do international students who want to transfer to other colleges abroad.

Converting your GPA is a must if your current school uses a 5.0, 6.0, or 7.0 scale, while your desired school abroad or any college you are about to move to uses a different scale.

For the above reasons, we decided to create a GPA conversion tool based on the regular, honors, and weighted AP/IB conversion tables below.
